Bruce R. Baumann, DDS, FAGD
Providing preventive, esthetic and advanced restorative dentistry to the Palm Desert area,
Dr. Baumann believes that his dental patients deserve the finest and most advanced dentistry available today. He has received advanced training at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies and Loma Linda University completing a one year residency in Implant Dentistry. He is the only dentist in Palm Desert to do so.
Dr. Baumann has attained fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, and is a long-standing member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Striving to provide exceptional dentistry for even the most phobic dental patients from the Palm Desert area, Dr. Baumann provides sedation dentistry and is a member of Doctors Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). With his many hours of advanced training, Dr. Baumann is able to provide his dental patients the latest in dental services such as preventive/oral health, whitening, porcelain crowns and bridges, dental implants, orthodontics and treatment of TMJ. Dr. Baumann’s Advanced Restorative Training
Dr. Baumann completed his post-graduate training at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies by completing the Master Aesthetic Dentist program. Dr. Baumann is among only a handful of California dentists to have completed the training. Dr. Baumann has also studied Posterior Aesthetic Dentistry, Practical Occlusion, Anterior Composite Restorations, Advanced Orthodontics and TMJ at the LVI. Dr. Baumann recently completed a one year mini residency in implant placement and implant restoration at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge, experience and commitment to excellence with you.
Dr. Baumann is also currently studying under Dr. Clayton Chan refining his techniques in Neuromuscular Dentistry.

Background
In 1982, Dr. Baumann began his practice in Palm Desert, California and shortly afterwards joined the staff at Eisenhower Medical Center. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine and earned his DDS at Georgetown University School of Dentistry. After receiving his degree, Dr. Baumann completed his residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Advanced Dentistry and the Veterans Administration Hospital, specializing in hospital dentistry. In 1992, he became one of only four dentists in the Coachella Valley to attain fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Baumann remains very active in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. Dr. Baumann currently practices preventive, cosmetic and implant dentistry in Palm Desert.
Family
When Dr. Baumann isn’t busy at the practice you can usually find him busy with his wife of 30 years and their four children Chelsea, Nicholas, Palmer and Makena. Nick is currently attending the NYU Dental School and will soon join the practice in 2011.
Personal Interests
After family and dentistry, Dr. Baumann's interests include golf, scuba-diving & skiing. He travels nationwide to play in amateur golf events. He is the dentist for many PGA, LPGA and nationwide golfers.
Nicholas S. Baumann, DDS
We are so happy to announce the addition of Nicholas S. Baumann, DDS to our
staff. Nick recently graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in
Manhattan, and will continue his studies at the Las Vegas Institute and
Cerec Technologies while seeing patients in our office. He will offer
expanded office hours, advice on New York's many fine delicatessens, and
highlights of his recent trip to China to those who wish to visit.
Our Front Office Staff
Lupe is the Office Manager for our practice. She has been with Dr. Baumann for over 25 years. Lupe is an expert manager. She does our appointment scheduling and is an excellent resource for insurance questions and financial arrangements. When not working, Lupe enjoys reading and working in her garden.
Mercedes is our Hygiene Coordinator. Mercedes worked in our office in 1999 for three years as a Dental Assistant to Dr. Baumann. She returned to our office as our Hygiene Coordinator several years ago, helping our hygienists maintain your beautiful smile by scheduling regular cleaning appointments. She has a wonderful family with her husband Josh, and stays busy with her three young children, Jacob, Justin and Jesselyn. Her hobbies are spending time with her children and exercising.

Mary Ellen is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She will put you at ease and answer all of your questions about the connections between oral health and overall well being. Mary Ellen has been serving our patients for over 25 years. She is especially up-to-date on the newest treatments and products available to you and is happy to share her expertise.
Mary Ellen’s competent and caring manner is greatly appreciated by her patients who return year after year for her special touch. When relaxing at home she likes to spend time with her teenage son, Gus, and her husband, Kevin. Mary Ellen is also an avid reader.
Mila has been a registered dental hygienist for 11 years graduating from Shoreline College in Seattle. She was born and raised in Ukraine but moved here 16 years ago. Mila has a beautiful daughter Tanya who is 27. Mila loves decorating her house, gardening and working out with her husband. She also loves cooking and will try anything, as long as it tastes great and looks good on the plate. She enjoys being a hygienist, making her patients happy and seeing how much they improve under her care. Sometimes it’s a huge difference and seeing improvements in a patient’s health is her greatest reward. She really does love her job, and our patients can sense that. Her gentle manner and friendly disposition really puts our patients at ease.

Our Highly Trained Assistants
We are very proud of our staff of well-trained clinical assistants. They too are committed to learning the latest techniques of patient care. The assistants often travel with Dr. Baumann to continuing education classes throughout the country. These ladies attend on average more continuing education courses than most dentists in the country do.
Lorena is our head clinical assistant and is a Registered Dental Assistant with an Extended Function license. She attended an eight week course at UCLA to obtain her EF license. She is an expert in the fabrication of beautiful temporary restorations. While the laboratory is crafting your permanent restorations your temporaries will look great courtesy of Lorena’s artistic ability. Lorena also enjoys dental photography, traveling, shopping, and an occasional party! Lorena’s two sons, JO’seff and Xavier, keep her busy.
Sabrina has been in our dental practice since April of 2007. She is a Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions. Sabrina has also been trained in Oral Surgery and has assisted the doctor with patients that have been under sedation. Her dedication and kindness makes our patients feel very comfortable and at ease with her.
Sabrina acquired her dental education at the University of California Los Angeles and has 10 years of dental experience. Her hobbies are swimming, baking, gardening and being outside enjoying mother nature.
Jamie has been a dental assistant in our office for almost two years. She completed her internship with Dr. Baumann after graduating from Kaplan College. Jamie especially likes to help our patients with whitening procedures. If you have any questions regarding our Kor or Zoom products, she will be happy to enlighten you. Jamie's outside interests revolve around her beautiful little daughter, Victoria, and traveling.
Keyerra is the newest member of our dental team. She is a Registered Dental Assistance with extended experience in working with children. She assisted in a Pediatric Dental Specialist's office, and also enjoys assisting in Oral Surgery. In her spare time, Keyerra enjoys using her artistic talents with watercolors and pen drawings.
